Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam buit down experience
To get a better understanding of what it means to have a studio that works with recycled and repurposed materials I had the possibility to help the envisions team with the built down of their exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum of Amsterdam.

Materials
Working with recycled materials means that a big part of your work is also collecting. Looking for interesting and usefull materials is like a tresure hunt you have to get in contact with lots of people, designers, companies, junkyards and more, and always keep your eyes open when you walk around.

Findig a workspace

The making of the workspace required a long reasearch into finding solutions, on one side to avoid problems with having to ask for building permissions and on the other side finding something that could fit into the available budget that I had.

Tools

Making my own tools from scratch and documentig it in a way that it can be reproduced by others by using mostly recycled or second hand materials to keep the whole process as low-budget and accessible as possible.

The making

As my canvas for this project I have chosen to create a workspace which includes a variaty of alternative solutions such as; find suppliers with different types of waste materials, store and differenciate the collected materials, create my own tools with the lowest cost possible, be playfull with finding solutions and share this experience so that it could inspire others.
